MONUMENT EAST

Monument East is a tower consisting of 208 apartments for the elderly, located within the Oldtown Urban Renewal Area of downtown Baltimore, accomplishing a critical phase of the Master Plan for the renewal area. It has become a landmark to this community in its drive to rebuild this historic neighborhood. In this public housing for the elderly each of the apartments has a balcony off its kitchen, a solution arrived at from consultation with the local community. The building is designed as three clustered towers.
